CM Devendra Fadnavis Terms Ketan Agrawal's Murder 'Extremely Shocking', Urges Social Reflection

Maharashtra: Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, described Ketan Agrawal's murder as 'extremely shocking' in his first response. Fadanvis said in his statement that the matter should be seen as a reflection of deeper social issues, not just as a criminal angle.

What CM Fadnvis had said?

Fadnavis mentioned in his statement, "This is an extremely shocking incident, something beyond imagination. It is the kind of incident that compels us, as a society, to seriously reflect. Why do children from educated and well-settled families develop such malicious and destructive thinking? What are the reasons behind this mindset? We need to think deeply about it. In reality, this case should not be viewed merely as a crime, but also from a social perspective. Society must consider what kind of environment and system needs to be created so that such cruel and revenge-driven thoughts do not develop in children at such a young age. This incident is truly very shocking".

He had stated after the Ketan's family met with him. On June 26, today, they met in Pune in a scheduled event where Ketan's family requested death penalty for the accused, to the Chief Minister.

What had happened after meeting with CM?

Vishal said after meeting with the CM Fadnvis, "After meeting the Hon'ble Chief Minister, he assured me that he will personally monitor this case and ensure that everyone found guilty is brought to justice at the earliest. He has assured us that the government will help secure the earliest possible punishment for those responsible."

What happened next?

For the time being, Siya and his boyfriend, till June 29, had been sent to the police custody. According to sources, Siya and Chetan, both, blamed each other for the Ketan's death as both the Siya and Chetan admitted to planning the act together, they have turned on each other regarding the final deed, each claiming that the other person was the one who actually pushed Ketan off the edge at Lohagad Fort.

A CCTV footage also emerged which is showing that these both were at a Pune cafe right before the death of Ketan.

When was the engagement?

However, following an engagement in February, arranged just a week after their families connected at a Bengaluru event, Ketan had reportedly voiced anxieties to his family regarding Siya, noting that she was frequently unreachable on her phone and prone to fighting over minor issues.

Conversely, Siya admitted that she was pushed away by Ketan's stammer and thinning hair. Meanwhile, Chetan's family has maintained his innocence, asserting that he was merely a distant bystander when Siya made the decision to push Ketan.
