In today’s tech-savvy world, online shopping has become the go-to option for millions. It’s convenient, quick, and often cost-effective. But sometimes, the experience can turn unexpectedly embarrassing, as it did for one man who ordered condoms through Swiggy.

The man shared his ordeal on Reddit, recounting how he ordered a pack of condoms from Swiggy, a popular app for groceries and essentials. He requested the delivery executive to leave the package at his office reception—a decision he soon regretted.

“When I reached the reception to collect my order, I was horrified. The condoms were packed in a transparent plastic bag, making the contents visible to everyone,” he wrote.

A packaging fail

The man explained that he usually relied on Blinkit for such purchases, as they ensured discreet and secure packaging. “This time, I thought I’d try Swiggy, expecting a similar experience. But their careless packaging ruined everything. Now, my entire office views me differently,” he lamented.

“I feel humiliated”

The incident left him feeling humiliated, as he feared it might affect his professional image. “Buying condoms isn’t a big deal, but such packaging shows a lack of responsibility. I expected better from Swiggy,” he concluded.

Online reaction

The post sparked widespread discussion on Reddit, with users criticising Swiggy for not prioritising customer privacy. Many shared similar experiences, calling for better packaging standards for sensitive items.
