Jammu&Kashmir: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge experienced a sudden health scare while campaigning in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. The incident occurred during an election rally in Kathua, where Kharge felt dizzy while addressing the crowd. Several leaders on stage quickly rushed to his aid, demonstrating their concern for his well-being. However, despite his discomfort, Kharge pressed on with his speech, emphasizing the party's commitment to restoring statehood in the region.

Determined to continue the fight

"I am 83 years old; I am not going to die so early. I will stay alive until PM Modi is removed from power," Kharge declared, showcasing his determination and resolve. The Congress leader also took aim at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the central government, accusing them of delaying elections. "These people never wanted to conduct the elections. They would have done it within a couple of years if they wanted to. They only started preparing for elections after the Supreme Court's order," he said.

Criticism of the BJP government

Kharge further criticized Prime Minister Modi, claiming, "PM Modi did not give anything to the youth of India in the last 10 years. Can you believe in a person who cannot bring back your prosperity in 10 years?" He urged voters to challenge any BJP leaders they encountered, asking if they had contributed to the country's prosperity.

Significance of upcoming elections

This assembly election marks the first since the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019. With Sunday being the final day of campaigning before the third and final phase of voting on October 3, all eyes are on the upcoming results, set to be announced on October 8.
