On Sunday, the Mumbai police have arrested an IT professional from Pune for sending death threat to NCP leader Sharad Pawar recently.
32-year-old Sagar Barve is an IT professional in Pune and will be in police custody till June 14. Barve, allegedly posted a death threat for Sharad Pawar on Facebook.
The post stated that Pawar will soon meet the fate of Narendra Dabholkar, an anti-superstition crusader, who was shot dead by two bike-borne assailants in 2013. Similar post was written on Twitter too. Investigation for Twitter post is still on.
Meanwhile, an NCP worker had filed a separate case at Lokmanya Tilak Marg police station in connection with threat on Facebook.
The police identified Barve through his IP address.
Further investigation is on in the case.
