Offensive Religious Post sparks stir in Dehradun: The atmosphere in Dehradun became tense on Monday night after an 11th-grade student posted an offensive religious post on social media. After the post went viral, a crowd of about 500 people gathered on the road and began shouting slogans. Police had to resort to lathi charge to control the crowd.

Police detained the student who made the comment. SSP Ajay Singh stated that the matter escalated after the student's comment went viral and spread rapidly through WhatsApp.

Even after lathicharge, the police force was deployed in the area till late night so that there was no untoward incident. The SSP appealed to the public not to hurt anyone's feelings on social media and maintain peace.
