Delhi Acid Attack Case Explodes: Police Probe Uncovers Rivalry, Blackmail and Shocking Property Dispute Secrets 

Delhi: On the morning of October 26, a sensational case emerged from Bharat Nagar area. Police were informed by Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital that a 20-year-old woman had been admitted with acid injuries. The victim, an open school student, told police that she was on her way to an extra class at Lakshmibai College when Jitendra, a local resident, arrived on a bike with his friends Ishan and Armaan. She alleged that Ishan handed a bottle to Armaan, who threw a liquid resembling acid on her. She tried to shield her face but both her hands were severely burnt.

Stalking and Old Dispute

The victim further claimed that Jitendra had been stalking her for months. About a month earlier, they had a heated argument. According to her, this was the reason Jitendra, with the help of his friends, targeted her. Based on her statement, the crime and FSL teams inspected the spot, and an FIR was registered. However, what seemed like a straightforward acid attack soon turned into a complex investigation.

Investigation Reveals Another Truth

As the police examined call records, CCTV footage, and witness statements, a startling fact surfaced. At the time of the alleged attack, Jitendra was at his workplace in Karol Bagh. The motorcycle that was allegedly used in the crime was also traced there. This discrepancy between the victim’s statement and Jitendra’s verified location added a major twist to the case.

Wife’s Shocking Complaint

The case grew even more complicated when police uncovered another complaint, filed just two days earlier. On October 24, Jitendra’s wife called the PCR and accused the victim’s father, Aqeel Khan, of blackmail and sexual exploitation. According to her, between 2021 and 2024, while working at Aqeel Khan’s factory, she was forced into a physical relationship. She alleged that Aqeel recorded objectionable photos and videos and used them to blackmail her. A case was already registered at Bhalswa Dairy police station, and Aqeel Khan is currently absconding.

Co-Accused and Old Rivalries

In the acid attack complaint, Ishan and Armaan were also named as co-accused. Police later found that both were in Agra with their mother, Shabnam. In a surprising revelation, Shabnam herself had been an acid attack victim in 2018, in which she accused Aqeel Khan’s relatives. Moreover, a long-standing property dispute between both families in Mangolpuri is already pending in court. This gave the case yet another dimension of personal rivalry.

Questions Over Victim’s Movements

Police investigations also raised doubts over the victim’s movements. CCTV footage showed her leaving Mukundpur on a scooter with her brother. He dropped her at Ashok Vihar, from where she took an e-rickshaw towards college. Investigators are questioning why the brother did not drop her directly at the college gate despite being with her. Adding to the suspicion, the brother has not been cooperating with the investigation.

With all these layers unfolding, senior Delhi Police officials are closely monitoring the probe. Investigators are now trying to determine how much of the FIR is accurate and how much may have been influenced by personal rivalries. Old disputes, sexual exploitation allegations, and property conflicts are all intertwining with the acid attack claim. What started as a brutal assault investigation has now turned into a high-profile case, with every turn revealing a new and dramatic twist.
