National News:  Flights are being delayed these days at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) . Behind the problems faced in the airport operations are the major reasons of the wind direction and runway upgradation work. This delay is causing inconvenience for passengers, but the Airport Administration and Ministry of Civil Aviation are constantly taking steps to resolve the situation.

Wind direction and runway repair: impact on flights

The winds coming from the eastern direction have changed in the last few days, which has affected the operation of the airport. In addition, a major runway is temporarily closed due to the repair and upgradation of the runway 10/28. This work is affecting the aircraft operations and passengers are facing delays. However, all other runways at the airport are normally employed.

Flight management by air traffic controlStrict flight flow management measures have been implemented by Air Traffic Control (ATC) to control the delay of flights at Delhi Airport. On Tuesday evening, the ATC announced that these measures would be implemented from 2030 am to the next 0030 pm. The purpose of these measures is to ensure the safety of passengers and maintain flight operations smoothly. However, these remedies are temporary and as the conditions are normal, the flight operations will become the same again.

An upgrade of runway 10/28: Temporary suspension

Delhi Airport runway 10/28 was currently closed for repair, but Dial has temporarily suspended it. Its aim is that this runway can be upgraded to the CAT III standards, so that the aircraft can be safely landed in low visibility. Upgradation work of this runway is expected to be completed by the beginning of May, which can solve the problem of delay in flights.

Civil Aviation Minister's approach: Plan to improve travel

Civil Aviation Minister K.K. Rammohan Naidu said that the ministry is closely monitoring every activity happening at the airport. The minister said that the problem of delay in flight operating at the airport will be controlled soon and better plans are being made for this. He also said that necessary guidelines will be given to the airport administration soon, so that such delays can be avoided in future.

Recommendations for passengers

Correct information and waiting Although flights are currently delayed at Delhi Airport, it is a temporary problem. Passengers are appealed to get updates from the airline about the flight situation and arrive at the airport in advance to avoid any discomfort. Also, the airport administration is making every effort to ensure convenient and safe travel to passengers.

This situation of delaying flight at Delhi Airport is only temporary, and the airport administration, ministry of civil aviation and ATC are all working towards improving it soon. Passengers need to be slightly patient at this time, as the aircraft operations will be normal again.
