Delhi residents experienced a frosty Tuesday morning shrouded in dense fog, significantly impacting visibility and disrupting travel across the city and neighboring (NCR) regions. Similar conditions prevailed in parts of Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana, prompting warnings from the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
"Very dense fog" warnings were issued for isolated pockets of Northwest Rajasthan and East Uttar Pradesh, while "moderate fog" shrouded sections of Punjab, Haryana, and West Uttar Pradesh. Delhi itself witnessed patches of thick fog blanketing major thoroughfares like Janpath Road, Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, and Nirankari Colony.
Taking it to X, IMD said, "Very dense fog in isolated pockets of northwest Rajasthan; dense fog in isolated pockets of East Uttar Pradesh; moderate fog in isolated pockets of Punjab, Haryana and West UP and shallow fog in isolated pockets of Delhi."

Adding to the woes, the city's air quality remained alarmingly high, falling under the "Very Poor" category with an AQI hovering around 328. This further exacerbates health concerns for residents already grappling with the fog's respiratory challenges.
While the fog is expected to dissipate later in the day, its immediate impact highlights the vulnerabilities exposed by such weather conditions.
