6-Day Rain And Storm Alert: IMD Warns Of Showers In Delhi-NCR, UP, Rajasthan And MP

New Delhi: Many states of North India including Delhi-NCR are now going to get relief from the humid heat. The Meteorological Department IMD has predicted light to moderate rain in many areas, strong wind and thunder at some places for the next six days. Rain alerts have been issued for Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, UP, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh on different dates.

In which districts of UP are there chances of rain?

Rain may continue in many districts of Western UP till July 1. After this, it may rain again on 3rd and 4th July. Rain is expected at many places in Eastern UP on June 30 and July 4. In some areas, strong winds and thunderstorms may occur.

How will the weather be in Rajasthan?

The weather will change in eastern and western parts of Rajasthan. There may be rain in Eastern Rajasthan till July 4 and in Western Rajasthan between July 1 and 4. During this period, there are chances of storms, dusty wind and rain with thunder at many places.

What is the warning for Uttarakhand, Himachal and Jammu and Kashmir?

Apart from June 30, there may also be rain in Uttarakhand on July 2 and 3. There will be rain and strong wind at many places in Himachal Pradesh till July 1. There may be light rain in Shimla. There is a warning of strong wind, thunder, lightning and wind speeds up to 60 km per hour in Jammu and Kashmir till July 4. The weather may become cool due to rain in Dehradun also.

How will the weather be in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh?

There are chances of rain in eastern and western Madhya Pradesh from June 30 to July 4. Storm, thunder and strong wind may occur in many areas. It will continue to rain in Chhattisgarh also for the next few days.

What is IMD's big alert for Northeast?

The Meteorological Department has warned of heavy to very heavy rain in Northeast India, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim for the next five days. In view of the continuous rain, red alert has been issued in some areas. People have been asked to be cautious and obey the administration.

Will the monsoon advance rapidly now?

According to IMD, in the next two to three days, monsoon may reach Madhya Pradesh, UP, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and some other parts of Rajasthan. Due to this, the weather will change in many states of North India and the temperature will also fall.
