National News: Caste tension exploded in Etawah’s Dandarpur village. Members of the Yadav community joined hands with youths from the so-called ‘Ahir Regiment’. They reportedly clashed with police over caste-based discrimination.Protesters pelted stones and even opened fire at police teams. Several patrol vehicles were damaged in the chaos. Locals say protesters blocked the village entry since early morning. Only Yadavs were reportedly allowed through, sparking outrage.
As police tried to control the crowd, senior officers present ordered dispersal. But the situation escalated quickly. Protesters left the village and gathered in large numbers on the Agra-Kanpur National Highway. Within minutes, a massive convoy of bikers took over the road. Violent clashes followed—stones were hurled, shots were fired, and police vehicles vandalized. The state police scrambled to respond, deploying additional forces and detaining several miscreants. Multiple two-wheelers were seized near Dandarpur as part of the crackdown.
The root of the conflict lies in an FIR filed against two preachers—Mukut Mani Yadav and Sant Kumar Yadav. They are accused of molestation, impersonation, and hurting religious sentiments. The controversy triggered protests from various Yadav organizations, whose members began flocking to Dandarpur in support. Authorities have now turned the village into a high-security zone. According to Etawah Rural SP Shri Shreesh Chandra, a number of agitators have been arrested, and efforts are ongoing to restore peace.
