Faridabad: An example of honesty has come to light from Faridabad, Haryana. Here a scrap dealer did not get greedy even after getting gold ornaments worth Rs 15 lakh and returned them directly to the original owner. The police also praised him highly and said that even in today's times, honesty is alive.

How did the gold end up in the scrap?

Before going to the Kumbh Mela in January, Ashok Sharma of Ballabhgarh had kept about 100 grams of gold jewelery in a small box in his house and hid it in a sack. Thought we would be saved from theft. But during Diwali cleaning, the same sack was accidentally sold to a junk dealer. Later when I remembered, the whole family got worried. They asked many scrap dealers, but found nothing. Everyone returned home disappointed.

When did the scrap dealer get the jewelery and what did he do?

Four months later, Haji Akhtar Khan was sorting old goods in his warehouse. Suddenly a packet wrapped in paper was found. When opened, the same gold ornaments were inside. Without thinking even a moment, he immediately called the police and deposited the jewelry with Ballabhgarh ACP Jitesh Malhotra.

How to get the jewelry back to the owner?

Policemen were on the spot. ACP Saheb himself handed over the jewelry to Ashok Sharma and his family. Everyone's eyes were filled with happiness. As if a big burden has been lifted. The family members kept thanking him again and again.

What did Haji Akhtar Khan say?

Khan Saheb said very simply, "When I found the jewels, I felt that they were of great use to someone. It was my duty to take them to the right place." His entire family was also happy that he took the right decision. He said, "Nothing is greater than honesty."

What was the reaction of the police?

ACP Jitesh Malhotra said, "This incident shows that there is still good left in the society." He appealed to the people to keep valuable things well so that such mistakes do not happen.

Nowadays, where there is talk of running after money everywhere, an ordinary junkman has shown that humanity is still at the top. Only such people give hope to the society.
