Flood relief work is underway in Punjab as Cabinet Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur and Fazilka MLA Narinder Pal Singh Sawna visited the affected villages of Teja Ruhela and Chakk Ruhela on Sunday. They distributed relief material, including cattle feed, to families hit by the rising waters. Dr. Kaur said that nearly 1.7 lakh cusecs of water released from Harike Headworks is likely to reach Fazilka through the Sutlej Creek by tomorrow, which could raise water levels further.

She appealed to residents to immediately shift women, children, and elderly people to safer places. The Minister added that relief camps have been set up across the district on the instructions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, with different government departments working in the villages. Special arrangements are also being made to provide food and medical help to pregnant women, lactating mothers, and children.
