Goa: The case related to Goa's Birch by Romeo Lane fire accident is again in the headlines. Police have taken another accused in this case, Ajay Gupta, into custody from Delhi and sent him to Goa. Ajay Gupta is a resident of New Delhi and was absconding after the incident. A lookout circular had already been issued against him so that he could not leave the country. When the police reached his house in search of him, he was not found there. After this, an arrest warrant was issued against him.

How did the matter begin?

This scary incident happened on the night of 6th and 7th December, when a fire suddenly broke out in Goa's famous nightclub Birch by Romeo Lane. Within a few minutes, there was chaos on the entire campus, and 25 people lost their lives. After the accident, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant immediately reached the spot and supervised the relief work. Initially the cause of the fire was said to be a gas cylinder blast, but as the investigation progressed, it was found that the fire spread rapidly due to firecrackers kept in the club.

Questions raised across the country

This accident has shaken people to the core. Questions are being raised on the security arrangements of nightclubs across the country. In many cities, the administration has intensified the investigation of clubs, and action has been initiated where deficiencies have been found. People are now asking who is responsible for such a major accident and whether such clubs are given licenses without checking the safety standards.

The search for Luthra brothers intensified

The most talked about in this case was Luthra Bhai, who had fled to Bangkok straight after the accident. Both are Delhi-based businessmen and run many luxury nightclubs and restaurants in Goa. Goa Police is now preparing to trace his location through Interpol. First, a Blue Corner Notice will be issued so that it can be known in which country they are and what activities they are doing there. After this the process of Red Corner Notice and extradition will be started.

The big question: How was this allowed to happen?

This is not the first time in India that a big accused has fled the country. Many high-profile names have been living comfortably abroad for years, while Indian agencies are tired of chasing them.
The Birch by Romeo Lane incident not only showed the negligence of a nightclub but also showed that weaknesses in safety standards and systems can cost lives. Now everyone's eyes are on how quickly the police bring out the truth in this big case and how many responsible people are brought under the ambit of the law.
