ADG Law and Order Amitabh S himself has reached Gorakhpur and is monitoring the case. Let us know the entire sequence of events…
Late on Monday night, animal smugglers arrived in Pipraich police station area in two vehicles. 10 to 12 animal smugglers arrived at student Deepak's furniture shop and warehouse in Mauachapi village. Finding a deserted place there, they started breaking the lock of the shop. There is a travel office on the roof of the warehouse and it is run by Deepak's aunt's son. He was sleeping there on Monday night. When he realized this, he informed Deepak's family about it over the phone.
Deepak's aunt's son saw that 10 to 12 people were standing below. Deepak informed about this at home and ran towards the shop on his scooter. The villagers also reached his shop with him. Seeing the villagers coming, the smugglers started running, then Deepak started chasing them. During the chase, he fell off the scooter, after which the smugglers pulled him into their car.
The villagers caught hold of the other vehicle. The smugglers abandoned their vehicles and started running away. The villagers chased and caught one smuggler and beat him up badly, due to which he became half dead. Police reached the spot on receiving the information. Police had to struggle a lot to free the smuggler from the villagers. SP North Jitendra Kumar Srivastava and Pipraich police station in-charge were also injured.
The police somehow rescued the smuggler from the villagers and admitted him to the hospital for treatment. The police and the family members went out in search of the smugglers who had gone in the first vehicle. Deepak's body soaked in blood was found about four kilometers away. At around 7 am on Tuesday, the villagers blocked the Gorakhpur-Pipraich road. The police tried a lot to convince them, but the family and the villagers were not ready to listen.
Seeing the matter escalating, DIG Shiv Shimpi Chanappa and SSP Rajkaran Nayyar reached the spot. They talked to the family members and assured them of taking strict action against the culprits. After about five hours, the villagers removed the blockade. DM Deepak Meena said that we have also talked about the demands of the family of the deceased. They were told that whatever assistance amount is there, they will get it. Apart from this, whatever help can be given at the local level, we will also provide that.
