The distressing incident unfolded on May 5, when the techie, requested the manufacturer for a service to repair her water purifier.Asked to turn off main switch The victim, living in Begur, had contacted the company on May 4 for work related to water purifier. Even after this, when the technician did not arrive, she contacted again the next day and lodged a complaint. According to the report, after this a technician came at 5 pm and after 15 minutes he asked to turn off the main switch.Grabbed her behindThe woman switched off the switch and started working in the kitchen. According to the report, the technician, seeing the woman alone at home, grabbed her from behind and started touching her inappropriately. The frightened woman started making noise, but he continued moving forward. It is reported that to save herself, the woman locked herself in the kitchen and with the help of the phone lying there, sought help from a friend living nearby.Friends intervention saved herThe womans friend reached home and saw that the technician was waiting for the woman to come out. Not only this, he also tried to attack the womans friend, but he took the help of a stick to stop the technician. The technician ran away from there after getting injured. Police action in this matterWhen the police reached the accuseds house the next day, they found out that he had not come home since duty. At present, the police have registered a case under section 354A of IPC and started investigation. However, on Wednesday, the police secured the accused and questioned him. A case of sexual harrasment under IPC section 354 A has been registered in the case. Further investigation is underway.
