National News: A major development has emerged in the Gurugram land scam case. Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court has issued a notice to Robert Vadra, the husband of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi and the son‑in‑law of Sonia Gandhi. The notice was issued to seek arguments before the court takes cognizance of the chargesheet filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The matter will now come up for hearing on August 28, 2025.
The case dates back to 2008, when Vadra’s company, Skylight Hospitality Private Limited, purchased land in Shikohpur village of Gurugram.
According to allegations by ED and the Gurugram Police:
In its chargesheet filed on July 17, 2025, the ED has named 11 individuals and entities as accused, including:
The ED alleges that Vadra’s company bypassed legal processes and used unlawful methods to gain financial advantages from the land deals.
As part of its investigation, on July 16, 2025, the ED temporarily seized 43 immovable properties valued at ₹37.64 crore. These assets are believed to be linked to suspicious financial transactions and illegally obtained gains.
The probe began when the Gurugram Police initially registered an FIR, accusing the parties involved of:
Following this, the case was handed over to the ED, which launched a money laundering investigation.
The Rouse Avenue Court has issued a notice to Vadra and other accused, directing them to respond before the court. A debate between both parties will take place before the judge. Only after this discussion will the court decide whether to formally take cognizance of the ED’s chargesheet.
This is not the first time Robert Vadra’s name has surfaced in connection with land deals in Haryana and Rajasthan. The case carries potential political implications, particularly as the 2025‑26 election cycle begins to gain momentum.
Robert Vadra and his company Skylight Hospitality Private Limited once again find themselves under legal scrutiny. The August 28 hearing will be crucial in determining whether the court will advance proceedings on the ED’s chargesheet. The outcome of this case could have significant legal and political ramifications for both Vadra and the Congress party.
