New Delhi: A shocking case of alleged deception and harassment has surfaced in Allahabad, where an associate professor at Allahabad University has accused his wife, along with her family members, of concealing her true identity and subjecting him to emotional turmoil.What happened exactly The associate professor, whose identity remains undisclosed, claims that he discovered after 14 years of marriage that his wife had misrepresented herself as a Hindu, when in fact she belonged to another religion and had been previously married. According to the professor, the revelation came to light through documents found in his wifes belongings in May 2024, which indicated her conversion to Islam and an earlier marriage to a Muslim youth in Delhi.Professor filed complaint In a complaint filed at the Civil Lines police station, the professor alleges that his wifes family, including her sister and father, orchestrated the deception to ensure her marriage to him. He further alleges that marital discord escalated to the extent that he was compelled to live separately with his mother due to constant disturbances caused by his wife.Professor accused wife of making false allegations The professor also accuses his wife of making false allegations and threats against him, including threatening to implicate him in false dowry death charges and attempting self-harm as a form of emotional manipulation.
