Nagpur, Maharashtra: After NDA's historic win in the Bihar Assembly Elections, Nitish Kumar took oath as the Bihar Chief Minister on November 20. In the Bihar election, the NDA, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) became the single largest party, securing 89 seats, while the Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)) won 85 seats.
Meanwhile, the opposition Mahagathbandhan (MGB) — led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and allied with others like the Indian National Congress (INC) — got only 35 seats. And now Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan took a dig at Congress for their poor performance in the Bihar election.
Talking about Bihar election and criticising Congress, Shivraj Singh Chouhan told ANI, "...It has now been proven that whoever Congress stands with will drown. Look at Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi, Akhilesh Yadav in UP and Tejashwi Yadav in Bihar. Defeat is certain wherever Congress forms a part of the alliance. Hum toh doobe hain sanam, tumko bhi le doobenge. Mamata didi in Bengal should beware."
Shivraj Singh Chouhan continued to add, "A new Govt has been formed in Bihar. A balanced cabinet has been formed under the leadership of Nitish Kumar. Mahagathbandhan is not a gathbandhan anymore; it is breaking, parties are breaking apart and families are getting estranged too because they have nothing to do with public welfare. It was an alliance of selfishness; their priorities were all wrong..."
He was speaking about the PM Fasal Bima Yojana. Highlighting about the the PM Fasal Bima Yojana, Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, "First of all, I would like to give you good news...Two damages were not covered under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and the same were being demanded for a long time now. One, damage to crops due to flooding or waterlogging triggered by excessive rainfall. Two, damage to crops due to wild animals. I would like to tell you that now Fasal Bima Yojana has been amended and both these damages are now being covered..."
