Weather Warning: IMD Predicts Heavy Rain Across 15 States, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh Set for a Wet Day (Image X @ANI)
New Delhi: Monsoon has become active again. The Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rain in 15 states for the next 12 hours today. There will be a strong storm at some places and hailstorm may also fall at some places. The wind can blow at 60 to 80 kilometres per hour. In such a situation, there is a fear of falling trees, power cuts and landslides in the mountains.
Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Assam, Gujarat and Maharashtra. The weather will be bad at all these places today. Along with the rain, strong winds will also blow.
Here the wind is expected to blow at a speed of 40-50 kilometres per hour. Along with this, there will be intermittent heavy rain. The Meteorological Department has said not to leave the house unless necessary. Roads may be flooded and jams may occur.
In Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Agra, Gorakhpur may receive thunderstorms up to 60 km and heavy rains. In Bihar, wind speed of 50-60 km will blow in Patna, Gaya, Bhojpur, Darbhanga. There is a danger of waterlogging in low-lying areas.
There is a possibility of a storm with a speed of 70-80 kilometers per hour in Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad of Jharkhand. Mountains may crack due to continuous rain in Uttarakhand and Himachal. There is also a fear of falling stones. The government has asked people living on river banks, farmers and people visiting to be alert.
Meteorologists say that a cyclone has formed near the Bay of Bengal and in the south-western part of UP. Due to this, humidity has increased and rain and storms have started in many parts of the country.
There is a yellow alert for heavy rain in some districts of Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir and Madhya Pradesh. Light to moderate rain may be accompanied by strong wind in Rajasthan.
Do not go out of the house unnecessarily. Do not stand under trees and electric wires. Do not wander near rivers and streams. Drive the vehicle slowly.
