IMD Issues Heavy Rain Alert for Faridabad, Gurugram, Delhi to get more showers (Twitter)
The India Meteorological Department IMD has issued orange alert for some areas of Delhi and near by areas till 6 PM on Thursday. IMD has kept Delhi and neighbouring parts on orange alert till pm. Alert has been issued for parts of South West Delhi, South East Delhi, South Delhi. Delhi is expected to witness light showers along with by thunderstorms.
However, the neighbouring parts of the national capital are on yellow alert which can witness moderate rains and thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, NCR is expected to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall, along with heavy rains at places over Faridabad, Gurugram, Jhajjar, Karnal, Panipat, Sonipat in the late evening, as per NDMA.
The national capital is already facing incessant rains from last few days which led to flood like situation. Meanwhile, Yamuna water level crossed the 207-metre danger mark.
However, on Thursday, Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa talking about the flood situation said that the government is fully prepared and also assured that the situation is under control. Talking to ANI, Manjinder Singh Sirsa said, "We are fully prepared as the water level of the Yamuna river is increasing. We are continuously monitoring the situation. The situation is currently under control."
