New Delhi: Monsoon has once again gained momentum in many parts of the country. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rain for the next few days in many states of North India, East India and the Northeast. According to the Meteorological Department, torrential rains along with strong winds may occur in many areas and incidents of lightning may also occur. In such a situation, people have been urged to remain alert.

Why has the rain suddenly intensified?

IMD says that at present several weather systems are active simultaneously over the country. Due to cyclonic circulation and formation of trough line, moisture is continuously increasing, the effect of which will be seen in North-West, East and North-East India. This is the reason why there is a possibility of continuous rain in many states in the coming days.

For which states have the maximum number of warnings been issued?

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for 15 states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Assam, Meghalaya and Sikkim.

There may be light rain at some places and heavy rain at other places in these states. Thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds are also expected at many places.

How much damage can strong winds cause?

There is a possibility of wind blowing at a speed of 40 to 70 kilometres per hour along with rain. In such weather, there is a danger of trees falling, electric poles being damaged and crops standing in the fields being damaged. People living in open places have been advised to take special precautions.

.At the same time, good rain is also expected in Lucknow, Kanpur, Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Prayagraj and surrounding districts. Waterlogging may also occur at some places.

What will the people of Bihar need to take care of?

Monsoon will remain active in Bihar also for the next few days. There is a possibility of continuous rain in Patna, Gaya, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Bhagalpur, Purnia and many other districts. After July 21, the impact of rain may increase further in some areas.

What advice has the Meteorological Department given to the people?

IMD has advised staying away from open fields, tall trees and electric poles during bad weather. Farmers should be careful while working in the fields keeping in mind the weather. In the areas where warning of heavy rain has been issued, an appeal has been made to follow the instructions of the local administration.

This change is important because the coming few days may prove to be the most active phase of monsoon in many states. In such a situation, it will be necessary to keep an eye on every update related to the weather.
