New Delhi: Monsoon has become active again. The Meteorological Department has warned of rain in 16 states including UP, Bihar, Delhi for Saturday. Rains will increase due to the deep depression and western disturbance formed in the Bay of Bengal. Tension is high in Bihar after Nepal flood.
It may rain in more than 47 districts of UP today. There is an alert of moderate to heavy rain in Lucknow, Kanpur, Bareilly, Agra, Prayagraj, Varanasi. There will also be heavy rain in Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Meerut, Baghpat, Ghaziabad of Western UP. Due to the rise in the water level of Ganga and Yamuna, people living in low-lying areas have been asked to be alert.
Today is the most important day for Bihar. There may be heavy rain in 20 districts including Khagaria, Champaran, Purnia, Bhagalpur, Patna.
After Nepal floods, Gandak, Kosi and Bagmati rivers are flowing above the danger mark. Ganga is also in spate at many places. For this reason, 8 border districts of Bihar have been put on high alert. More than 50 thousand houses are already affected by the floods and many people have been shifted to safer places. Rain will continue for the next 2-3 days.
After two days of strong sunshine and humidity in Delhi, the weather will change again. It has been cloudy in Delhi, Noida, Gurugram and Ghaziabad since Saturday morning. Light to moderate rain may occur till evening. Today the temperature in Delhi will be between 30 to 38 degrees, if it rains, there will be relief from humidity.
Danger has increased again in the mountains. Yellow alert has been issued in Uttarakhand and Himachal from August 29 to September 2. In Himachal, many roads are closed due to landslides, while in Chamoli, Badrinath Highway is blocked due to debris. Travellers have been advised to proceed to the mountains with caution.
According to IMD, the system formed in the Bay of Bengal is slowly moving towards the north-west, due to which it is raining in UP, Bihar, MP, Chhattisgarh. Also, due to Western Disturbance, the second round of rain has started in the mountains also.
