Visit of Canadian Foreign Minister to India: Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand will arrive in New Delhi on Sunday with the aim of strengthening bilateral relations between India and Canada. During her visit, the two countries will discuss formulating a framework for strategic cooperation in areas such as trade, energy, and security.
According to officials, Anita Anand will meet with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal. The meeting will focus on expanding partnerships in various sectors and deepening bilateral ties. This is Anita Anand's three-nation tour, in which India will be her first stop. After this, she will also visit Singapore and China.
She will meet with executives from Canadian and Indian companies working to support investment, job creation, and economic opportunities in Canada and India in Mumbai.
The Canadian Foreign Minister's visit to India comes three weeks after Canadian National Security Advisor Nathalie Drouin's visit to India and extensive talks with her Indian counterpart, Ajit Doval. Just days after the Doval-Droin meeting, Canada declared the Lawrence Bishnoi gang a terrorist organization for violently targeting and threatening certain communities.
