BoycottTurkeyAzerbaijan trends (X)
Indian armed forces conducted Operation Sindoor on May 7, attacking nine terror infrastructure facilities in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). It was a counter to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, in which 26 tourists, the majority of whom were Hindu pilgrims, lost their lives. India blamed the Pakistan-based outlawed terror group offshoot Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) named The Resistance Front (TRF) for the attack.
After Operation Sindoor, Azerbaijan and Turkey released solidarity messages in favor of Pakistan. This action enraged Indians, and many Indians demanded a boycott of Turkish and Azerbaijani goods. The #BoycottTurkeyAzerbaijan hashtag became a trend on Indian social media.
We are officially ending our partnership with Turkish Airlines due to their unsupportive stance towards India. Going forward, we will no longer include their flights in our international travel packages. Jai Hind

Indian tour company Go Homestays posted that it was ending its affiliation with Turkish Airlines because the company felt that it was supporting Pakistan's aggressive attitudes towards India. Goa Villas, a provider of villa rental aggregations, also said it would not supply accommodation to citizens of Turkey. "We are officially ending our association with Turkish Airlines due to their non-supportive attitude toward India. Jai Hind," Go Homestays wrote on X.
Pakistan retaliated against Operation Sindoor by firing missiles and drones against several military targets in northern and western India. The Pakistani military fired on many civilian areas throughout the area, which led to a quick response from India. India has asserted that its actions were measured and proportionate and reaffirms its non-escalation policy but will not be afraid to retaliate if threatened.
In response to the Pahalgam terror attack, India launched a series of actions against Pakistan. The government suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, expelled Pakistani diplomats, recalled Indian diplomats from Islamabad, and closed the Attari border. India also closed its airspace to Pakistani flights and ships, parcels, and Pakistani imports. In addition, New Delhi suspended the Instagram accounts of a number of Pakistani cricketers and celebrities.
The conflict between India and Pakistan has been long and convoluted, with both nations having waged multiple wars and involving themselves in border clashes. The recent heightening of tensions reflects the importance of diplomatic solutions in ending the conflict. As things continue to unfold, it will be interesting to see how the international community addresses the increasing tensions between the two nuclear-possessing states.
