Pak military faced heavy damages the ministry of defence says that Pakistan's army was hard hit in India's retaliation to drone attacks.
On the night of May 7 and 8, the Pakistan army repeatedly violated Indian airspace across the western border with the intention of attacking military installations. It also used heavy-caliber fire along the Line of Control. Approximately 300 to 400 drones were deployed in attempted infiltration at 36 points, reported Colonel Sofiya Qureshi
"The Indian army destroyed the majority of these drones using kinetic and non-kinetic means. The likely purpose of such large-scale aerial penetrations was to test air defense systems and collect intelligence. Drone wreckage is being forensically analyzed. They are reportedly Turkish Asisguard Songar drones according to initial reports."
Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, during the press brefing, stated, "On the intervening night of May 8 and May 9, Pakistani army attempted to attack military establishments on the western borders. From Leh to Sir Creek, Pakistani army employed drones for infiltration."
Wing Commander Vyomika Singh stated, "Pakistan did not shut down its civil airspace even after it conducted an unsuccessful unprovoked drone and missile strike on 7 May at 8.30 pm. Pakistan is employing civil airliner as a shield with full knowledge that its strike on India would trigger a prompt air defense reaction. This is unsafe for the innocent civil airliners along with the international flights which were flying close to IB between India and Pakistan."
