IMD Issues Storm and Heavy Rain Alert for 13 States Within Next 15 Hours (X@travellwithamit)
New Delhi: The weather has troubled people in North India. On one side the sun is blazing, the mercury is crossing 45. On the other hand, the Meteorological Department has said that storm and rain may also occur in the next few hours. This means that right now you are suffering from heat stroke, after some time you may have to fight with strong wind and water. Weathermen say that at many places the wind will blow so fast that it will reach a speed of 60-65 kilometers per hour. There will also be lightning along with it.
The Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rain and stormy winds in many states including Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Uttarakhand. The department says that the weather can change rapidly in these areas. Danger of lightning has also been expressed at many places. People have been asked to avoid going to open places during bad weather and not to come out of their homes unless necessary.

The heat is continuously troubling people in Delhi and surrounding areas. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heat wave from May 20 to 22. Strong sunlight and hot winds during the day have made the situation difficult. The temperature in the capital remains around 45 degrees Celsius. In the afternoon the roads seem empty and people are coming out only when there is important work. However, after May 23, a slight change may be seen in the weather.
At present the heat is at its peak in Uttar Pradesh. The temperature in Banda has reached close to 47 degrees Celsius. Heat wave alert has been issued in many districts including Agra, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Noida and Varanasi. At the same time, the effect of hot winds continues in Rajasthan also. According to the Meteorological Department, dust storms may occur in many parts of the state and further increase in temperature is possible.
There may be rain in Bihar for the next 2-3 days. There will be thunder in Patna, Bhagalpur, Gaya and heavy rainfall may occur. Winds will also blow along with it. The weather is changing in the mountains of Uttarakhand also. It may be cloudy in Dehradun. There are chances of rain in higher areas like Chamoli, Uttarkashi. People going on Chardham Yatra have been asked to be careful.
Heat wave is also going on in Bhopal, Gwalior, Indore of Madhya Pradesh. Orange alert has been imposed in Vidarbha area of Maharashtra, meaning the situation is bad. In Telangana too, the temperature can go up to 45°C in many places. Overall, the next few days are difficult for the entire country. At some places there will be heat, at other places there will be storms and rains. So keep watching the weather news and take care of yourself.
