The government of India ordered Twitter to suspend hundreds of accounts, not more than 8,000. Twitter acted upon the directives, suspending accounts associated with the Khalistan movement and farmer agitations.

Blocked Accounts: More than 500 accounts were suspended in obedience to the Indian government's orders to block, most accounts associated with Khalistan sympathizers or supported by Pakistan.
Government Orders: The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) directed Twitter to suspend accounts "in the interest of sovereignty and integrity of India".
Twitter Response: Twitter withheld part of the accounts under its Country Withheld Content policy in India, while making them accessible outside India.
