India News: India has made it clear that it will not stop purchasing oil from Russia, despite increasing pressure from the U.S. President Trump’s tariff war has led India to firmly uphold its diplomatic position.

India's Strong Position

India has announced that it will continue buying oil from Russia, irrespective of the growing pressure from the United States. In response to President Trump’s tariffs on oil and other goods, Indian authorities have emphasised that the country has the right to secure its energy needs and will not be influenced by external pressures.

U.S. Pressure and Response

India has rejected the U.S.’s trade pressures, stating that ensuring energy security is its top priority. The Indian government clarified that any decision regarding oil imports will be in line with India’s national interest, despite the tariff conflict raised by President Trump.

India's Diplomatic Stance

India believes in maintaining a balanced relationship in global trade. As long as the global energy supply remains uncertain and volatile, India has no reason to change its oil supply sources. The Indian government has also expressed its intent to strengthen trade relations with other countries to ensure it is prepared for any global challenges.

Long-standing Relations with Russia

India and Russia have shared a historic and strong relationship, built over decades of economic, military, and political cooperation. Buying oil from Russia is an integral part of India’s energy strategy, and there is no intention to change this.

Focus on Foreign Policy

India made it clear that it will continue to assert its sovereignty in making decisions related to oil imports, irrespective of external pressures. The government emphasized that its foreign policy decisions, especially regarding energy imports, are based on national political, diplomatic, and economic priorities.

Balancing International Trade Relations

India further asserted that it is committed to maintaining balance in its trade relations with all countries. Ensuring stability in the global energy market is one of India’s key goals, and the ongoing oil imports from Russia are seen as a significant step toward achieving this stability. Despite U.S. pressures, India has firmly decided to continue its oil imports from Russia. This decision demonstrates India’s diplomatic resolve, putting its national interests above external demands. It remains to be seen how this decision will affect India’s relations with other countries.
