Indore-Malwa Express fire: A major accident was narrowly avoided when the brakes of the Malwa Express malfunctioned near Indore, causing sparks and smoke to emit from the train’s wheels. The incident led to panic among passengers as the train slowly moved from Mhow towards Indore. Experts have stated that if the train had been running at high speed, there was a significant risk of the coaches overturning.

Incident occurred near Rajendra Nagar

A potentially disastrous incident occurred on the Malwa Express train, which runs between Mhow-Indore and Vaishno Devi-Katra, as it passed through Rajendra Nagar in Indore. Suddenly, the wheels of an air-conditioned coach began making a loud screeching noise. This was followed by sparks and smoke emanating from the wheels, alarming passengers. Alerted by the passengers, the train staff swiftly took action to address the issue and prevent any further danger.

Train halted near Rau station  

Upon receiving alerts from concerned passengers, the Malwa Express train was quickly brought to a halt near Rau station as a precautionary measure. Responding promptly to the emergency, railway engineers rushed to the scene and sprang into action. Utilizing fire extinguishers, they effectively contained the situation, preventing a potential fire from breaking out and ensuring the safety of all onboard.

Railway official addresses the incident

Railway PRO Khemraj Meena explained, "The wheels got stuck due to friction, but it’s a normal occurrence. There was no serious threat, and the issue was resolved quickly." After 40 minutes of repair, the train continued its journey towards Vaishno Devi-Katra.

Frightening experience for passengers

Despite the swift response, passengers were left shaken by the incident. This is not the first time something like this has occurred; a similar situation was reported 20 days ago in Sehore, raising concerns about the safety of this route.
