New Delhi: India strongly reacted to the airstrikes by Pakistan on Afghanistan, which have led to the death of at least 51 civilians, women, and children. The increased tension illustrates cross-border instability and other continuous challenges in the region.

India Condemns Civilian Attacks

India's Foreign Ministry condemned the Pakistani airstrikes on Afghan soil in a strongly worded statement, labeling them "inhumane and unacceptable." The strikes were reportedly targeting suspected hideouts of the Pakistani Taliban but resulted in civilian casualties in Paktika province.

Casualties of Afghan End

The December 24 strikes killed 51 civilians, among them five members of one family in Laman village. Seven villages were left devastated and caught the attention of the world toward the fate of Afghan citizens living in the midst of conflicts.

 Kabul's Outrage and Warning

The Afghan government termed the airstrikes "cowardly acts of aggression." Enayatullah Khowrazmi, spokesman for Afghanistan's Ministry of National Defence, said that the attacks will be avenged, adding that such incidents are against international principles.

Pakistan Justification amidst Criticism

Pakistan had given its reasons of missile strikes for the fact that such places were already reported hideouts of Pakistani Taliban. However, critics argue that such bombing was highly indiscriminate which reflected that Islamabad was not good at handling home-grown terrorism effectively.

Border Tension Escalating

This event led the Pakistani and Afghan border security forces to fight with each other that escalated the situation between these two nations. The fighting took place sporadically along the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa of Pakistan and Khost province of Afghanistan.
