According to sources, senior officials from the Union Health Ministry—including representatives from the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP), the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), and other relevant departments—have reviewed the situation and initiated precautionary public health measures. A senior official from the Health Ministry clarified that no case of Ebola caused by the Bundibugyo virus strain has been reported in India, and the current risk to the country remains minimal.

The official explained that, as a precautionary measure, surveillance and preparedness protocols are being reinforced at points of entry and within the public health system to ensure the early detection of—and a rapid response to—any suspected cases.
