Ranchi: Jharkhand government on Tuesday issued a notification of cancellation of 44 recruitment examinations by Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) following irregularities, amid protests from students over the matter.

What did the government say?

Eight notifications issued in the late night by the government of Jharkhand said that the cancelled examinations include those held by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and outsourcing agency TSR Data Processing Pvt Ltd (TDPL) from the year 2014 onwards.

What is the reason of cancelling exam?

The cancelled examinations include recruitment of drug inspectors, assistant professors, deputy collectors, dental doctors, assistant engineers, civil judges, additional public prosecutors and forest range officers among others.

Other major examinations cancelled by the government include recruitment of lecturers in government polytechnics, senior scientific officers, assistant conservators of forest and other administrative and technical posts.

The notifications stated that there would be a request for constituting of fast track court in the High Court for hearing cases pertaining to the irregularities in JPSC-JSSC, besides constitution of internal vigilance cell in JPSC-JSSC.

Also, the committee for reforms in JPSC-JSSC headed by senior IAS officer, Amitabh Kaushal will submit its report within two months.

When was the JSSC exam cancelled?

The state government, after a cabinet meeting on Monday, decided to cancel the JSSC-Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination, which is one of the main demands of protesting students, besides all examinations conducted by outsourced agency TDPL and results published by it.
