A large number of devotees are reaching Kainchi Dham in Nainital to seek blessings at the temple associated with Baba Neem Karoli. The long weekend has attracted visitors from several parts of North India. Large crowds and queues of vehicles have been reported around the temple and nearby routes. Interest surrounding Kainchi Dham and Baba Neem Karoli has also added to the attraction for many visitors.

The rise in tourist arrivals has significantly increased the pressure on roads around Nainital and nearby areas. Reports indicate that with around 12,000 tourists arriving in the region, long queues of vehicles have formed on routes from Bhawali towards Kainchi Dham, Garampani and Khairna. Traffic inside Nainital city has also moved slowly, particularly on Mall Road and Haldwani Road.

Manali Also Witnesses Heavy Tourist Rush

Manali in Himachal Pradesh has also experienced a major tourist influx during the long weekend. Visitors from different states have reached the popular hill station to enjoy the weather and surrounding attractions. Recent snowfall in the higher reaches has further increased interest in Manali and nearby areas. The growing number of tourist vehicles has put additional pressure on city roads and major routes.

Shimla, Mussoorie and Badrinath Routes Also Affected

The traffic pressure has not been limited to Nainital and Manali. Several other tourist and religious routes in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh have also witnessed increased vehicle movement. The Shimla-Kalka road, Mussoorie-Dehradun route and roads leading towards Badrinath Dham have experienced higher traffic during the holiday period. The movement of devotees towards pilgrimage destinations has further increased pressure on important routes.

Tourist Rush Boosts Local Businesses

The arrival of large numbers of tourists and devotees has provided a boost to hotels, restaurants, taxis and local shops. Businesses in popular tourist destinations are benefiting from increased visitor activity during the long weekend. However, the sudden rise in vehicles is also creating difficulties for commuters and tourists, particularly on narrow mountain roads where road capacity is limited.

Traffic Management Becomes Challenge for Administration

Managing traffic has become a major challenge for authorities as large numbers of vehicles are reaching hill stations at the same time. Limited parking facilities and narrow roads can quickly lead to congestion during peak tourist periods. Kainchi Dham and surrounding areas have faced similar traffic pressure during busy weekends and special occasions in the past.

Tourist Influx May Continue in Coming Days

The movement of tourists towards Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh is expected to continue during the remaining holiday period. If visitor numbers remain high, traffic pressure could continue on major tourist and religious routes. The situation has also highlighted the growing need for better parking facilities, route management and long-term traffic planning in popular hill destinations.
