Who Will Be CM if Mahagathbandhan Wins? Cong Leader Kanhaiya Kumar Reveals All
Assembly elections are scheduled to take place in Bihar later this year, and the political temperature is rising fast. Amid this, Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar made a major statement on Friday. He said that if the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) secures a majority in the assembly polls, the Chief Minister will be from the RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal). According to him, the RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) will have the chief minister if the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) wins a majority in the assembly elections. The fact that Tejashwi Yadav will be the CM face is clear. But he made it clear that election-related matters will come first. He accused that the ruling party was trying to divert the public attention by making the CM face of the alliance into a focal issue.
During the same interaction, Kanhaiya Kumar made a significant claim regarding the BJP. He said that as soon as the BJP gets an opportunity, it will remove current Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and replace him with one of its own leaders. According to him, the BJP is sticking to its old strategy — first supporting a regional party and then gradually overpowering it.
In an interview given to a news agency, Kanhaiya stated that the party with the most MLAs will get the Chief Minister’s post. RJD is the largest party in the Mahagathbandhan and is likely to have the most MLAs, so the Chief Minister will naturally be from their ranks. He added, "There is no doubt about this." Referring to the BJP, he said, "Even they themselves don’t know who their CM face is — whether it's Nitish Kumar or someone else." On the other hand, leadership in the Mahagathbandhan is clear.
Speaking about the Grand Alliance, he gave an analogy: "In a car, the clutch, brake, and rearview mirror all have their specific roles." Similarly, all the parties in the Mahagathbandhan, including Congress, hold significance. All allies will contest the elections together. Regarding seat-sharing, he said, “Our unity is based on issues, not on seats. Major responsibilities lie with big parties, but smaller roles are equally important.”
Kanhaiya Kumar also made serious allegations regarding CM Nitish Kumar’s health and the BJP’s political strategy. He said, "Amit Shah is an expert at finding opportunity in crisis. What he did in Maharashtra, he is trying to replicate in Bihar.” He accused the BJP of first forming alliances and then attempting to swallow regional partners. He also criticized the current state government, saying that it is being run like a dictatorship by bureaucrats.
