UP News: On Saturday night in Kanpur’s Sen Paschim Para area, a female head constable was brutally raped while walking home to her in-laws' residence to celebrate Karva Chauth. The officer, posted in Ayodhya, was walking from Pali in plain clothes when the accused, identified as Dharmendra alias Kallu, ambushed her in a millet field. Taking advantage of the deserted path and darkness, he forcefully attacked and assaulted her.

Brave resistance by the victim

The head constable fiercely resisted her attacker, causing one of her teeth to break in the struggle. Despite the trauma, she bit one of his fingers, scratched his face, and screamed for help. Her loud cries for help drew a crowd, forcing the accused to flee the scene. The victim immediately informed the police, who launched a manhunt to capture the suspect.

Accused arrested within hours

Sen Paschim Para police, led by Station In-charge Gautam Singh, launched a swift operation. With clear indicators such as the suspect’s cut finger and facial injuries, the police were able to identify and arrest Dharmendra alias Kallu within hours.
