Lionel Messi Arrives in Mumbai for the Next Leg of the GOAT India Tour (X/Screengrab)

Mumbai: After Lionel Messi's chaotic opening day of G.O.A.T. India tour in Kolkata and Hyderabad, the Argentine icon has reached Mumbai for the next leg of the tour. His Mumbai's schedule includes participation in the Padel GOAT Cup at the Cricket Club of India (CCI), and then next to the iconic Wankhede Stadium for the main event.

The main event will be at the Wankhede Stadium that will roll into a grand charity fashion show along with the Spanish music performances. The programme will start at around 5 pm while the gate is expected to open three hours earlier. For the event, Messi will be accompanied by his teammates Luis Suárez and Rodrigo De Paul. 

Who will grace the event?

It is to be noted here that several significant personalities are likely to attend the Mumbai event. Among the expected guest list are Bollywood celebrities such as Kareena Kapoor Khan, John Abraham and Jackie Shroff at the fashion show. Meanwhile, prominent figures from cricket and other walks of life are also expected to be present at the event.

What Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said?

Earlier, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy thanked Lionel Messi and his teammates, Luis Suarez and Rodrigo de Paul, for the GOAT India tour event in Hyderabad. In his statement, he wrote, "I wholeheartedly thank G.O.A.T Lionel Messi football greats Luis Suarez and Rodrigo de Paul, for accepting our invitation and gracing our city of Hyderabad and enthralling all our sports lovers especially youth."

CM Revanth Reddy, who played the friendly match against Messi's team at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, also thanked the Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, for attending the event.

Meanwhile, CM Revanth Reddy thanked Rahul Gandhi and said, "We are deeply grateful to our leader Rahul Gandhi ji for joining us and making the evening a memory of a lifetime." He added, "I thank and congratulate all officers, security personnel, organisers and staff on duty across the city for ensuring we were able to showcase to the world that means sports, Telangana means excellence, and Telangana means hospitality."
