Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Ahead of the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to kick off his polling campaign with a rally in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr district today (January 25).

Several BJP workers and leaders are actively involved in preparations, expecting a significant turnout in the western Uttar Pradesh city.

This rally in Bulandshahr will mark the beginning of the election campaign for the 2024 polls and comes days after the grand consecration of Ram Lalla – Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha in Ayodhya on January 22.

PM Modi to launch development projects ahead of Lok Sabha Elections 2024

Moreover, he will also inaugurate development projects worth over Rs 19,100 crore on Thursday.

The highlights of the projects include the inauguration of the 173-km long double-line electrified freight corridor between New Khurja and New Rewari.

PM Modi will flag off goods trains on this stretch via video conferencing. This new corridor establishes vital connectivity between the western and eastern dedicated freight corridors.

Notable is the remarkable engineering feat of a one-km-long double-line tunnel on this stretch - the first of its kind in the world with high-rise electrification for seamless operation of double-stack container trains. This freight corridor will allow faster movement of goods trains and improve passenger train operations.

Rail, road projects expected to be inaugurated

Among other projects, PM Modi will inaugurate the fourth railway line connecting the Mathura-Palwal and Chipiyana Buzurg-Dadri sections. Multiple road development projects worth over Rs 5,000 crores will also be launched to boost connectivity and economic growth.

Apart from this, PM Modi will also inaugurate the Tundla-Gawaria pipeline of Indian Oil and an integrated industrial township in Greater Noida. Built for Rs 1,714 crores over 747 acres, the township leverages the strategic location near key infrastructure like dedicated freight corridors and the Eastern Peripheral Expressway.

With the Lok Sabha elections expected in April-May 2024, the barrage of projects in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh will help the ruling BJP bolster its pro-development image. The state is politically crucial as it sends the most MPs to the Lok Sabha.
