After a week of delays, the Lok Sabha will now start talking about important topics, including a special discussion on 'Operation Sindoor'—India’s strong military action after the terror attack in Pahalgam. As per the business schedule released by the Lok Sabha, this major operation will be a key topic in Parliament on Monday.

The first week of the Monsoon Session faced many delays, mainly due to the sudden resignation of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is expected to begin the discussion in the Lok Sabha on Monday. Sources say that Home Minister Amit Shah, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar, and BJP leaders Anurag Thakur and Nishikant Dubey will also join the debate.

Prime Minister Modi may join the conversation in both houses. He is expected to speak during the discussion in the Lok Sabha and may also share his views in the Rajya Sabha. Sources have revealed that the discussion on Operation Sindoor will begin in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday. Senior ministers like Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar are likely to take part in that debate too.

Many Leaders to Participate

TDP MPs Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu and GM Harish Balayogi will speak during the discussion in the Lok Sabha. The TDP has been given 30 minutes for their views. From the Samajwadi Party, party leader Akhilesh Yadav and MP Rajiv Rai are expected to take part in the debate as well.

Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, confirmed that the debate in the Lok Sabha will last 16 hours on July 28. A similar 16-hour discussion is planned for the Rajya Sabha on July 29.

"Every topic cannot be discussed all at once. The opposition has raised many issues like the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process in Bihar. But we have informed them that Operation Sindoor will be discussed first. After that, we will decide on the next subjects," Rijiju told the media.

Opposition Wants PM’s Response

Opposition parties have long demanded that the government explain the details of the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor. They also want clarification about US President Donald Trump’s past comments, where he claimed to have helped mediate a ceasefire between India and Pakistan. The opposition insisted that PM Modi should be present during the debate.

Due to the Prime Minister’s recent two-country foreign visit, the debate was pushed to next week. Meanwhile, floor leaders of the INDIA alliance plan to meet on Monday at 10 AM. They will discuss their plan for the second week of the monsoon session. The discussion on Operation Sindoor will begin in the Lok Sabha on Monday, and the Rajya Sabha will talk about it on Tuesday.
