In a shocking hit-and-run incident in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, a drunken driver behind the wheel of a speeding Creta car plowed through multiple pedestrians, leaving five people injured and several vehicles damaged. The chaos unfolded in the old Lucknow area, sparking panic among bystanders as the driver struck down pedestrians one after another.

The video that surfaced on social media shows that the incident was first reported near the iconic Rumi Gate, where the driver hit a pedestrian and fled. He continued his rampage, hitting three more individuals near the Clock Tower. Eyewitnesses described a desperate scene as locals tried to stop the car, but the driver accelerated, eventually colliding with an e-rickshaw.

The violent spree came to a halt near Chota Imambara in the Thakurganj area, close to the Hussainabad police station, where furious locals managed to surround the vehicle. The enraged mob dragged the driver out of the car, assaulted him, and smashed the vehicle's windows in retaliation for his reckless actions.

Police soon arrived on the scene and took the driver into custody. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital, while local authorities registered a case based on complaints from residents. A video of the incident, capturing the driver’s rampage and the aftermath, has gone viral on social media, drawing widespread outrage.

An investigation is currently underway to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.
