Bus Accident in Gujarat’s Dang District (PTI)

A tragic accident occurred early Sunday morning in Gujarat’s Dang district when a bus carrying pilgrims plunged into a deep gorge, resulting in the deaths of five people and leaving 17 others seriously injured. The police confirmed the incident, stating that the crash happened at approximately 4:15 AM near the Saputara hill station when the driver lost control of the vehicle.

Bus carrying 48 passengers falls 35 feet into gorge

According to Superintendent of Police S.G. Patil, the bus was carrying 48 pilgrims when it broke through a roadside barrier and plummeted about 35 feet into a ravine. Among the deceased were three men and two women, who succumbed to their injuries at the accident site.

The police official further stated, "Five pilgrims lost their lives, and 17 others sustained serious injuries. They have been admitted to a civil hospital in Ahwa for treatment, while several others suffered minor injuries. The rescue operation is nearly complete."

Pilgrims were en route to Gujarat’s Dwarka

The ill-fated bus was traveling from Trimbakeshwar in Maharashtra to Dwarka in Gujarat when the accident occurred. The passengers were devotees from Madhya Pradesh’s Guna, Shivpuri, and Ashok Nagar districts.

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident, while rescue teams ensured that all injured passengers received necessary medical attention.
