An 8-year-old girl from Chachauda village in Guna district, Madhya Pradesh, was allegedly raped and murdered by her father, who later disposed of her body in a nearby well. The horrifying incident came to light after the child went missing last Wednesday, prompting her family to file a missing person report with the local police.
The accused reportedly took his daughter to a field, where he raped and assaulted her before tying her hands and feet with a towel and throwing her into a well. It remains unclear whether the child was still alive when she was thrown into the water. A search operation was launched after her disappearance, and the State Disaster Emergency Response Force (SDERF) was called in to assist. After three days of searching, the girl's body was found on Saturday. Her hands and feet were tied, and a stone had been fastened to her using a towel.

On Sunday, the girl’s father was arrested after suspicion grew around his behaviour. He had remained inside the house during search efforts, while other family members, including the girl’s grandfather, participated in looking for her. His uncooperative attitude during questioning added to suspicions. Villagers also reported seeing the father with his daughter on the day she disappeared. During interrogation, the father initially denied any involvement but eventually confessed to the crime. He revealed a deep-seated hatred for the child, as he had always desired a son instead of a daughter.
