Mumbai: NCP-SP leader Sharad Pawar has been admitted to the hospital. He was in Baramati when he developed a throat infection. He was then admitted to Ruby Hall Clinic in Pune. His nephew, Ajit Pawar, was observing the thirteenth-day rituals after a death in the family today, and Sharad Pawar was supposed to be there. However, he had been feeling unwell since morning and was eventually taken to the hospital.
It has been reported that he had been suffering from fever, cough, and phlegm for the past one or two days. This morning, when his condition worsened, he had to be taken to the hospital. Today is the thirteenth-day death anniversary of the late NCP leader Ajit Pawar in Kathewadi, Baramati taluka. Dr. Grant of Ruby Hall Clinic has also confirmed Sharad Pawar's hospitalization. It should be noted that Ajit Pawar died in a plane crash in the last week of January. The accident occurred while he was traveling to Baramati for campaigning in the district council elections. This unfortunate incident happened at a time when talks of a merger between the two factions of the NCP were underway.
Now, after his death, there is speculation about whether there is still a possibility of the two NCP factions uniting. Most leaders of the Ajit Pawar faction have denied this possibility. Meanwhile, Sharad Pawar's close associate and grandson, Rohit Pawar, said that Sunetra Tai will make the decision in this regard. He said that Ajit Pawar's thirteen-day mourning period ends on February 9th, and only after that will Sunetra Tai speak on the matter. Notably, when Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was asked about this, he said that Sunetra Tai alone has the authority to make any decision regarding the merger of the NCP factions.
