Thane: The investigating agencies have got a big success in the Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) paper leak case. The main accused Virendra Kumar Gupta, who was absconding for a long time, has been arrested from Bihar. The special team of Bhiwandi Police caught him after a search that lasted for several days. Now he has been brought to Maharashtra by air from Bihar, where he will be produced in court and a demand for police remand will be made. Investigating officials believe that his arrest can reveal layers of the entire paper leak network.

How was the main accused arrested?

The special team of Bhiwandi Police was busy searching for Virendra Kumar Gupta for the last several days. Based on technical surveillance and intelligence, the team reached Bihar, where he was arrested. After the arrest, the accused was brought to Pune airport by plane. From here, he is being taken to Bhiwandi under tight security, where further legal process will be completed.
