ATM Surprise: UP Woman Sees Rs 10 Crore in Account, Says Return It to Owner (X)
New Delhi: A simple ATM balance check in Uttar Pradesh's Mainpuri district turned into a shocking incident when around Rs 10 crore suddenly appeared in a woman's account. The family members were shocked to see this and the matter became a topic of discussion as soon as it came to light.
The woman's son Arun Kumar said that he had gone to the ATM to generate the PIN and check the balance. During this time, an amount of about Rs 9.99 crore appeared on the screen, seeing which even he himself could not understand for some time.
The woman Sita clearly said that she had no knowledge about this amount. She says that this money is not hers and whoever it belongs to should get it back. Other family members are also repeating the same thing.
The family has denied making any claims. They say that they are ordinary people involved in farming and will clarify the situation as soon as the bank opens. Their aim is only to know where this money came from.
The video of the balance visible on the ATM screen spread rapidly on social media. Within no time this matter came into discussion and people started raising questions on the banking system.
Officials of the local branch of Bank of India have called it a technical glitch. According to the branch manager, there is also a loan account linked to the woman's account and it is possible that this wrong balance may have appeared due to that.
After this incident, the question is being raised among the people whether the banking system is completely safe and accurate. However, the bank has assured that such irregularities are rectified immediately.
Now the account will be thoroughly checked by the bank officials and the correct balance will be updated. It is hoped that the technical glitch will be rectified soon and the matter will be cleared up.
