Maharashtra government accused of wasting time (Social media)

National News: Social activist Manoj Jarange continued his hunger strike for the third consecutive day. His clear demand is that the Devendra Fadnavis government should immediately issue a Government Resolution (GR) on the basis of available documents regarding Maratha reservation.

The government committee will take legal opinion

Chairman of the cabinet sub-committee related to Maratha reservation and Minister of State Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil said that legal advice will be taken on this matter. He also said that in view of Jarange's demand, the possibility of resorting to the Hyderabad and Satara Gazettes will be considered.

Jarange stands firm at Azad Maidan

Jarange, who has been sitting at Azad Maidan in Mumbai since Friday, said bluntly that he will not step back until the government agrees to his demand. Jarange says, "The Maratha community is associated with the Kunbi sub-caste. Kunbi is a farmer-based caste that gets a reservation in the OBC category. We have 58 lakh documents that prove this connection."

Accusations of breaking promises against the government

Jarange accused the Maharashtra government of wasting time. He said that before becoming the Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis had promised to give reservation to the Dhangar community and waive the loans of farmers, but to date the promises have not been fulfilled. Jarange warned that if the Maratha community does not get reservation, the government will have to face defeat in the Panchayat elections as well.

Warning and strong message

Jarange said that many people who were stopped from coming to Mumbai may have returned, but the movement is not going to stop. He said in a strict tone, "If our demands are not met, we will force your MPs and MLAs to leave Maharashtra with their families. No one can stop Marathas from getting OBC reservation."

Increasing pressure

This movement of Jarange is continuously gaining momentum. The anger of the Maratha community and resentment against the government is now coming out openly. The question is whether the government will accept their demand and issue a GR or this movement will create another big political stir in the state.
