Salman Kha, Zeeshan Siddique death threats: In a disturbing turn of events following the October 12 assassination of former MLA Baba Siddique, his son, MLA Zeeshan Siddique, and Bollywood actor Salman Khan have received death threats. On Friday, a call to Zeeshan’s Bandra East office threatened both his and Khan’s lives, demanding a ransom for their safety.

Following a complaint filed by a staff member at Siddique’s office, the Mumbai Police swiftly registered an FIR. The Crime Branch, collaborating with local authorities, tracked the source of the threat to Noida, where they arrested Mohammed Tayyab. The suspect is now in custody at the Nirmal Nagar police station, where investigations are ongoing.

Previous threats linked to a recent assassination

The death threat comes in the wake of Baba Siddique’s assassination near his son's office. The former MLA and NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) leader was fatally shot in broad daylight despite being under police security. This tragic incident has heightened security concerns for his son, Zeeshan Siddique.

In a prior, separate case, the Mumbai Police had detained Shaikh Hussain Shaikh Mausin, a vegetable seller from Jamshedpur, after he sent a similar threat to the Mumbai traffic police’s WhatsApp helpline, demanding a ransom of ₹5 crore. This latest arrest raises new questions about the threats following the Siddique family tragedy.

Increased security concerns for Zeeshan Siddique

Security arrangements for MLA Zeeshan Siddique were enhanced after his father's death, yet the situation remains tense. A recent inspection by Zonal Deputy Commissioner of Police Dixit Gedam revealed that constable Vishal Ashok Thange, assigned to Siddique’s security detail, was absent without notice. Following this incident, Thange has been suspended, and further security assessments are being conducted to ensure Siddique’s safety.
