New Delhi: The monsoon which was sluggish in North-West India for the last few days, is now going to become active again. The Meteorological Department says that due to the cyclonic system formed in the North-East around July 20 and the western disturbance, the rains will increase. Due to this, there may be good rain in North India, Northeast and Central India. But there will be no relief from heat and heatwaves at some places.
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert in many states for today.
Red Alert: Warning of heavy to very heavy rain in 18 states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar.

But the problem is that since the onset of monsoon, there has been less than normal rainfall in UP. This has affected farming in many districts.
Bihar: There is orange alert for 27 districts. Light to moderate rain will continue for the next 4 days. Here too this time the rainfall has been much less than normal.
The situation is bad due to continuous rain in the mountains. People have been asked to remain alert in Dehradun, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh.
National highways and roads are closed at many places due to landslides. People traveling in the mountains are advised to proceed with caution. The administration is also keeping an eye on every moment.
Due to the release of water from Himachal Pradesh and rains, the water level of Yamuna and other rivers has increased. There is a flood-like situation in the low-lying areas of Haryana and its effect is also visible in Delhi. Yamuna has reached near the danger mark in Delhi. Rain is expected in many districts of Haryana, and Jalandhar, Mohali, Gurdaspur, Pathankot in Punjab. There may be clouds and light rain in Chandigarh also. Condition of Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh
Rajasthan: Monsoon is still weak here. No heavy rain expected in the next few days. The weather will be dry in Bikaner-Jodhpur and dust storms may occur. There may be light rain at isolated places in Sriganganagar, Hanumangarh, Churu.
Chhattisgarh: Monsoon is fine here. Northern districts including Raipur may receive intermittent good rain for the next 5 days. Light rain occurred at many places in the last 24 hours also. But if we look at the entire season, here too there is less rainfall than normal.
IMD says that after July 20, the monsoon will gain strength again. Due to western disturbance and north-eastern system, rainfall will also increase in the northwest, Rajasthan and Gujarat. There is relief for the areas which were waiting for rain. But in places where it is already raining heavily, people will have to be careful and obey the administration.
