Bihar: Amidst the NEET paper leak case in Rajasthan, an even bigger revelation has come to light from Nalanda in Bihar. Ahead of the NEET-UG 2026 exam, the police have busted an organised 'solver gang'. In this action, three people including a second-year MBBS student have been arrested. A huge amount of cash, fake admit cards and many suspicious digital evidence have been recovered from the accused.
Rajgir DSP Sunil Kumar Singh said that high alert was going on in the entire district regarding the NEET exam to be held on May 3. Meanwhile, the police were checking vehicles at different places. During investigation, two vehicles appeared suspicious, after which the police stopped them and started questioning them.
When the police searched the vehicle, wads of notes were recovered from it. During interrogation, the accused said that they had about Rs 2 lakh in cash. A young man introduced himself as a second-year MBBS student. After this the police took the three accused and both vehicles to the police station.
According to DSP Sunil Kumar Singh, in the initial investigation the case seemed suspicious, hence everyone was taken into custody and their mobile phones were examined.
The next day, much important information came to light in the forensic examination of the mobile phone. Police found admit cards of many examinations including NEET in the phone. Apart from this, records related to money transactions and other digital evidence related to the gang were also recovered.
The investigating agencies suspect that this gang used to employ solvers in the examination and get the students passed through fake means. At present, the police are busy investigating the entire network and efforts are being made to find out to which states the connections of this gang extend.
After this incident, once again questions are being raised on the security arrangements of NEET exam. In recent times, many cases related to paper leaks and solver gangs have come to light, due to which the concern of students and parents has increased.
