Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati has demanded Bharat Ratna for Kanshi Ram. The statement from the BSP chief has come after Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday announced that former PMs Chaudhary Charan Singh and PV Narasimha Rao will be conferred the Bharat Ratna. Along with them, MS Swaminathan, father of the green revolution will also be awarded the countrys highest civilian award.We welcome the recent awarding of Bharat Ratna, but the neglect of Dalit personalities in this regard is not correct...Taking it to her X handle, Mayawati tweeted, All the personalities who have been honored with Bharat Ratna by the present BJP government are welcome, but in this matter, it is not appropriate to disrespect and ignore especially the Dalit personalities.
