Encounter of the Accused Who Burnt Nikki Alive (Social Media)

National News:In Sirsa village under Kasna police station limits, a shocking case of dowry death has taken another turn. Vipin, accused of setting his wife Nikki on fire, was injured in a police encounter after he attempted to flee from custody. According to Kasna police station in-charge Dharmendra Shukla, when Vipin tried to escape, the police were forced to open fire, injuring him in the leg. He has since been taken for medical treatment, and further investigation is underway.

Child’s Heart-Wrenching Testimony Surfaces

Amid the investigation, a disturbing video of Nikki’s five-year-old son has gone viral on social media. In the video, the child narrates the horrific sequence of events leading to his mother’s death. He recalls that his father first beat his mother and then poured petrol on her before setting her ablaze. The innocent testimony has shaken people across the region and brought renewed attention to the brutality of the crime.

Grief and Shock in the Victim’s Family

Back in Roopbas village, the atmosphere is filled with mourning. Nikki’s mother, Manju, has been in shock since the incident and often loses consciousness due to grief. Her father, Bhikhari Singh, sits silently, unable to process the loss of his daughter. Relatives and neighbors who come to console the family are themselves overwhelmed with tears. According to the family, Vipin was addicted to alcohol, which often led to quarrels at home. He did little to support the household, adding further strain to the family’s life.

Father’s Account of the Incident

Recalling the sequence of events, Bhikhari Singh said his elder daughter informed him of the tragedy. “We rushed to the hospital, but by then my daughter had suffered 70 percent burns. She was first taken to Fortis Hospital and later referred to Safdarjung Hospital. Despite our efforts, the doctors declared her dead,” Singh said. His statement highlights both the cruelty of the act and the helplessness of the family in saving Nikki’s life.

Allegations of Dowry Harassment

The grieving father also leveled serious allegations against Nikki’s in-laws. He claimed that it was Nikki’s mother-in-law who poured kerosene on her, after which Vipin set her on fire. Singh further revealed that despite giving a Scorpio car and other items as dowry during the wedding, the in-laws continued to demand ₹35 lakh in cash. Nikki and her elder sister, Kanchan, were both married in December 2016 into the same family, but repeated instances of harassment had forced multiple panchayats.

Demand for Strict Punishment

Holding the accused responsible for his daughter’s death, Singh demanded the death penalty for Vipin and his family. “Now that my daughter is gone, their dowry demands are fulfilled. They killed her for money and harassed her till the end,” he said in anguish. The case has once again highlighted the deep-rooted menace of dowry and the urgent need for strict action against those who continue to practice this social evil.
